In an amazing turn of events Jay, Jim’s transplant coordinator, called to tell him that he is now approved for donor lungs from anyone 5 ft. 9 in. or taller. Jim’s fever broke around dinner time, so he is feeling better now. Maybe his flu shot gave him a wee bit of the flu? He thinks he’ll be better tomorrow. Yay!
Jim didn’t hear anything from the transplant team on Thursday, so on Friday he called his transplant coordinator, Jay, and found out that the meeting had been canceled. The UCLA lung transplant team meets every Thursday, so we are hoping to hear something from them today. Jim went to see his pulmonologist, Dr. Kahan, yesterday for a checkup.
