Jim got his Wii today and has been exercising with it. He played tennis, baseball, and bowling. He was up in his room and moving his body and arms to play the sports. It was a sight to behold: He can pick up a mean spare and hit a baseball 541 feet.
Jim had a great day at pulmonary rehab today. He was on the recumbent stairs for 25 mins and the treadmill for 14 mins – both new records. Jim reports it is easy to walk from his parked car to the rehab office which is good walk and one he wasn’t able to make that [...]
Jim’s dad is up visiting Kristen and Kelly in Berkeley. Jim has mysteriously gained three and a half pounds since his dad left. And tonight he came home with weights so that he can pump iron. He said that they were kind of hard to get home because they are heavy. Things are happening around [...]

No, Jim has not gotten too cozy with the Marinol – not that kind of rehab. Rather, today Jim started pulmonary rehabilitation at UCLA. This is to help Jim get better and stronger at using his new lungs — that is, time to do some hard physical work. Jim drove himself over to the appointment, [...]
Yesterday, Jim went to clinic — it was all good news. Jim has gained a little weight and the doctor reiterated that Jim’s last biopsy showed absolutely no rejection. Jim left a while ago to head for work, by himself — ohhh, I hope he was really going to work or I just outed him. It is so nice to see Jim doing things that he use to do. He also took his evening medicines in case there is some delay in his returning [...]

Just as we have a minimum wage, we should also have minimum healthcare for everybody. People die everyday [...]
Jim’s Aunt Kim has organized Team Gilliam which will be walking on Sat, April 28th at Cal State Fullerton. You can join us on the walk/run (I’ll be walking) by registering here. Maggie and I participated in this event before and it is a very inspiring event as you see many organ donor families and [...]
In an amazing story, UK scientists have grown a human heart value from stem cells. Amazing. Maybe one day organs will be grown to recipient’s specifications — too wonderful to imagine.
Jim got new glasses today as you can see, and he can start driving again. Also, since he can see better when I am driving, he is very motivated to drive himself.
